Inspiration

I'm an aspiring writer who goes off and on with their daily writing. Writing prompts would help me so much with my writer's block, but I always felt that they were random and had nothing to do with my story ideas.

What it does

AI prompts help provide daily writing prompts that relate to the story you want to write. The AI takes the provided story ideas, along with any past writings, and generates 6 prompts for the writers to use. Each finished prompt can then be combined into one large story.

How we built it

We built AI prompts using Base 44 through the trial and error of its vibe code interface.

Challenges we ran into

We had a different idea for this hackathon initially, but switched it up when I found the app idea had already been created. Some other challenges included the app pooling data instead of linking it to separate profiles, figuring out how to export stories to a Word document, and altering the request sent to the AI to produce decent prompts.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud of the profile page, which includes a toggle to switch between different calendars. I also really like how each new prompt is organized under each story idea. The AI at one point was trying to come up with elaborate titles for the story ideas, but I changed it to simply give a descriptive title for the prompt.

What we learned

I learned that the AI can be very wordy. Mostly, I learned how to talk to the Base 44 agent so that it would understand my requests.

What's next for AI Prompts

I'd like to build a way to import half-completed stories into the app so the AI can take stories built outside AI prompts and create prompts for them, too.
