Inspiration

As a team, want to deliver professional reports every single time, from quarterly to weekly status report we want to deliver high quality, and professional design reports.

The problem is summarizing content from different sources, and then applying design is too time consuming. We end up manually accommodating texts the hour before the meeting so we decided to do something. We decided to create AI Pretty Reports.

What it does

AI Pretty reports will receive the company information (Name, Logo, Colors), a report type (e.g: Status Report) and a source document (e.g: Working Session notes) and automatically build a Canva report for you.

What's cool about doing it in Canva is still, the designer can make adjustments if needed instead of other solutions that will provide a PDF you can not change.

How we built it

We are using the Canva SDK.

Challenges we ran into

Learning to use the SDK, and working around some limitations like not being able to read the entire Canva document to get element positions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a product we can use internally that will come better and better! saving us time, and allowing us to provide pretty and concise reports every single time.

What we learned

There is a lot of value in tasks like this, where we can save designers and editors times that they can dedicate to create new things instead of doing repetitive tasks.

What's next for AI Pretty Reports

We would like to add more templates to the list, and more customization options. We are very excited about the updates on the SDK so we can add a template creator from Canva to our application.
