Inspiration
Access to timely healthcare remains a challenge for many people, especially when early symptoms are ignored or misunderstood. We were inspired by how artificial intelligence can assist in early health awareness and reduce delays in seeking medical help. Our goal was to build a simple yet impactful solution that empowers users to make informed health decisions at the right time.
What it does
AI-Powered Smart Health Assistant analyzes user-reported symptoms and basic health data to provide early risk insights and preventive guidance. It helps users understand potential health concerns and recommends when to consult a medical professional, acting as a first-level health support system.
How we built it
We designed a user-friendly interface where users can enter symptoms easily. On the backend, we implemented a machine learning model that maps symptoms to potential risk categories using trained datasets. The application processes inputs, generates insights, and displays clear, actionable recommendations in real time.
Challenges we faced
One of the biggest challenges was ensuring accuracy with limited data while keeping the model lightweight enough for a hackathon timeline. Balancing simplicity, usability, and meaningful AI output was also challenging. Additionally, we focused on making the results informative without presenting them as medical diagnoses.
What we learned
This project helped us understand how AI can be applied responsibly in healthcare. We learned about data preprocessing, model integration, API handling, and the importance of ethical design in health-related applications. Most importantly, we learned how to turn a real-world problem into a functional prototype under time constraints.
