Inspiration
Many people apply for jobs but never get feedback on their resumes. They do not know what is good or what is wrong. This inspired us to build a tool that gives instant resume feedback using AI. The goal is to help users improve faster and feel more confident.
What it does
Users upload their resume in PDF or DOC format. The system checks the resume content. AI evaluates the resume. It shows what is good and what needs improvement. Users get clear and helpful feedback.
How we built it
We built a full-stack web application. The frontend is made with React and Tailwind CSS. The backend is built using Express.js. The backend handles file uploads and resume processing. The AI generates feedback and sends it to the frontend.
Challenges we ran into
Handling different resume formats was difficult. Text extraction was not always accurate. Making AI feedback easy to understand was also challenging. We worked on improving performance and error handling.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We built a complete working application. Users can upload resumes without issues. The system gives meaningful feedback. The UI is clean and easy to use. The app works smoothly end to end.
What we learned
We learned full-stack development skills. We learned how to handle file uploads. We learned how to connect frontend and backend. We learned how to present AI results clearly.
What's next for AI Powered Resume Reviewer
We plan to add job-specific feedback. We want to include ATS score checks. We plan to add resume history for users. We want to improve feedback quality and visuals.
