AI-Powered Resume and Job Matching Platform
Inspiration
Many students and job seekers struggle to create resumes that pass Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and match the right job opportunities. Often people apply to hundreds of jobs without knowing whether their skills actually match the role. This inspired us to build a platform that uses AI to help users create optimized resumes and automatically find jobs that best match their skills.
What it does
Our platform analyzes a user's skills, experience, and interests, then generates an optimized resume tailored for job applications. It also recommends relevant job opportunities using AI-based matching so users can focus on roles where they have the highest chances of success.
How we built it
We built the platform using Python and modern AI/NLP techniques to analyze resumes and job descriptions. The system extracts key skills, compares them with job requirements, and suggests improvements to the resume. The frontend provides an easy interface where users can upload or generate resumes and instantly get job recommendations.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was accurately matching resumes with job descriptions. Different companies describe similar skills in different ways, so we had to design a system that could intelligently understand skill similarities. Another challenge was structuring the resume analysis so it provides meaningful suggestions instead of generic feedback.
What we learned
Through this project we learned how AI and Natural Language Processing can be applied to real-world career problems. We also gained experience integrating multiple technologies and designing systems that help users make better career decisions.
What's next
In the future, we plan to improve the AI model, integrate real-time job listings, and add personalized career guidance. Our goal is to make job searching smarter, faster, and more efficient for everyone.
