Inspiration
We were inspired by the common struggles many people face when seeking IT help. Waiting for responses, explaining simple issues repeatedly, and the general frustration of technical difficulties disrupting work – these are problems we wanted to solve. We saw the potential of AI to make IT support faster and more accessible
What it does
TechAssist AI is a smart bot that acts as a first point of contact for IT support. It helps employees with common tasks like resetting passwords, getting information about software, and guiding them through basic troubleshooting. If the bot can't solve the problem, it smoothly connects the user to a human IT agent.
How we built it
We used Salesforce's Agentforce, which provides tools to build AI-powered bots. We created the bot's conversations using Agent Builder, defining how it interacts with users. We also used Apex (Salesforce's programming language) to connect the bot to our (or a simulated) IT systems, allowing it to perform actions like triggering password resets.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was integrating the bot with external (or simulated) IT systems. We had to write code to communicate between Salesforce and these systems, which required careful planning and testing. Ensuring the bot understood the variety of ways people ask for help (natural language processing) was also challenging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of creating a system that can handle common IT requests automatically, freeing up human agents to focus on more complex problems. We're also happy with the smooth handoff from the bot to a human agent, ensuring users always get the help they need.
What we learned
We learned a lot about building conversational AI and integrating it with business systems. We gained valuable experience in using Salesforce's Agentforce tools, including Agent Builder and Apex. We also learned about the importance of user experience design in creating effective and helpful bots.
What's next for TechAssist AI: Intelligent IT Support with Agentforce
We plan to further improve TechAssist AI by making it even smarter and more helpful. We want to expand its capabilities to handle more IT issues, integrate it with more systems, and make the conversation flow even more natural. We also want to gather user feedback to continuously improve the bot's performance.
