AI powered career advisor was inspired by a common challenge we observed among students—many are confused about career choices because available guidance is either too generic or outdated with respect to current industry needs. Seeing peers struggle to decide what skills to learn and which path to follow motivated us to build a solution that is personalized, practical, and future-oriented. The project uses AI to analyze a student’s interests, background, and aptitude to generate a personalized career path and skill roadmap. It also provides an interactive chatbot with up-to-date industry insights, learning resources, and career guidance. We built the system using a web-based frontend connected to a Python–Flask backend hosted on Google Cloud Run.The backend integrates Google Vertex AI to generate personalized career paths. One major challenge was ensuring the AI generated accurate, relevant, and non-generic career recommendations tailored to each user.We also faced difficulties with cloud deployment, API integration, and managing limited resources and costs during development. We successfully built and deployed a scalable, user-friendly AI-powered career advisor that delivers personalized, actionable career roadmaps using generative AI and cloud technology. We learned how to design, build, and deploy a scalable AI-driven application that transforms user inputs into meaningful, real-world career guidance. Next, we aim to expand the platform with live job-market insights, advanced skill evaluation, and more tailored guidance for a wider student audience.
