Inspiration

Healthcare information is often difficult to access, expensive to obtain, or misunderstood by patients. Many people ignore symptoms until they become serious, while others struggle to determine whether a symptom requires urgent medical attention. We wanted to create an AI-powered assistant that helps users better understand their symptoms and make informed healthcare decisions.

What it does

NOVACARE AI allows users to create a personal health profile and describe their symptoms. The system analyzes the information provided and generates guidance on symptom urgency, possible health concerns, and recommended next steps. The goal is to provide accessible health information while encouraging users to seek professional medical care when necessary.

How we built it

We built NOVACARE AI as a web-based platform using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the frontend experience. User information is stored locally for convenience and a personalized experience. The system is designed to integrate AI-powered symptom analysis and present results through a simple, user-friendly interface.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges was designing a healthcare tool that is both useful and responsible. Medical applications require careful handling because inaccurate information can have real-world consequences. We also faced challenges related to limited development time, coordinating tasks, and balancing functionality with a clean user experience.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully transformed an idea into a working healthcare platform within a short timeframe. We developed a functional frontend, implemented user profile management, created a structured symptom assessment workflow, and established a foundation for AI-assisted healthcare guidance. Most importantly, we built a solution focused on helping people make better healthcare decisions.

What we learned

Through this project, we learned about healthcare technology, user-centered design, AI-assisted development, and the importance of responsible AI systems. We also gained valuable experience in project planning, collaboration, rapid prototyping, and communicating technical ideas effectively.

What's next for NOVACARE AI

Our future plans include improving symptom analysis accuracy, integrating trusted medical datasets, supporting multiple languages, adding healthcare provider recommendations, and expanding accessibility features. We also aim to incorporate more advanced AI models and strengthen safety mechanisms to ensure users receive reliable and responsible guidance.
