Inspiration

MigMind was inspired by the growing need for accessible, private, and empathetic mental health support. In a world where mental health challenges are increasingly prevalent, we aimed to create a safe, inclusive space for users to manage their emotional well-being. Our goal was to leverage AI and voice technology to deliver a calming, human-like experience that feels like a trusted friend, while ensuring strict privacy and accessibility standards.

What We Learned

• Integrating ElevenLabs API for natural, human-like voice responses required careful optimization to achieve <2-second latency.
• Designing for accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA) taught us the importance of inclusive design principles, such as screen reader compatibility and keyboard navigation.
• Balancing gamification with sensitivity was key to fostering engagement without trivializing mental health.
• GDPR-compliant data handling reinforced the importance of transparent privacy policies and end-to-end encryption.

How We Built It

MigMind was built using Bolt.new for rapid no-code development, with integrations for voice, hosting, and authentication. The application features:

• A minimalist, mobile-first UI with soft blues (#E6F3FF) and gentle greens (#E8F5E9) for a calming experience.
• Voice-enabled interactions powered by ElevenLabs API, with customizable tone, speed, and language support.
• End-to-end encrypted local storage to prioritize user privacy.
• OAuth 2.0 for secure authentication.
• A gamified "Serenity Points" system and achievement badges to encourage consistent engagement.
• Wellness modules including guided meditations, journaling prompts, and breathing exercises.

Challenges Faced

• Achieving low-latency voice responses (<2 seconds) required optimizing API calls and caching strategies.
• Ensuring WCAG 2.1 AA compliance across all devices was complex, particularly for dynamic voice-driven content.
• Balancing gamification with sensitivity to avoid undermining the seriousness of mental health support.
• Implementing GDPR-compliant data handling while maintaining a seamless user experience.
