She Health AI: Early Gynecological Cancer detection system

I was inspired to create She Health AI by the urgent need for accessible cancer detection tools for women across Africa, where limited resources and geographic barriers often delay diagnosis of gynecological cancers. Building this AI-powered system taught me about the unique healthcare challenges women face in rural and low-resource areas and deepened my understanding of how powerful AI can be in transforming healthcare. Using Google’s AI Studio, I trained models to analyze symptoms and ultrasound images, helping to identify potential abnormalities even in areas without specialist access. One major challenge was ensuring that the AI could work accurately with a range of symptom and imaging data while remaining accessible on mobile devices with limited internet connectivity. Through this project, I learned how vital culturally relevant and locally adaptable solutions are to improving women’s health and realized the significant role that technology can play in making healthcare more equitable.
