Inspiration

The idea for our project, AI-Powered Financial Health Advisor, stemmed from the challenges people face in managing personal finances effectively. Many lack access to affordable financial advice tailored to their unique needs. We aimed to create a solution that democratizes financial literacy and decision-making by leveraging AI and data analytics.

What it does

Our web app analyzes users' financial data, such as income, expenses, and spending habits, to provide personalized insights and actionable advice. It also offers features like:

  1. Budget planning
  2. Saving goals tracking
  3. Credit score monitoring
  4. Emotional analysis based on user input, ensuring well-rounded financial well-being.

How we built it

We developed the app using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js). Key components include:

1.Frontend: Built with React.js for a seamless and interactive user interface. 2.Backend: Node.js and Express.js for server-side logic and API integration (e.g., Plaid API for financial data). 3.Database: MongoDB to store user data securely. 4.Visualization: Integrated Chart.js for dynamic financial data visualization. 5.Hosting: Leveraged free-tier cloud services for deployment.

Challenges we ran into

Data Privacy: Ensuring secure handling of sensitive financial data was a top priority. API Integration: Adapting the Plaid API to our specific requirements was complex. Emotion Analysis Module: Designing a text-based emotional analysis system without relying on video input required innovative solutions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully creating a reward token system for motivating users to achieve financial milestones. Achieving a user-friendly interface with real-time financial insights. Ensuring robust security and privacy measures while handling user data.

What we learned

How to integrate third-party APIs effectively for financial applications. The importance of user-centric design in creating accessible tools. Enhanced our problem-solving skills by overcoming technical and logistical hurdles.

What's next for AI-Powered Financial Health Advisor

Expanding the emotional analysis module to recommend mental health resources. Integrating additional APIs to include investment portfolio management. Launching a mobile app version for improved accessibility. Partnering with financial institutions to provide exclusive features for premium users.
