Inspiration

Emergency situations such as accidents, fires, floods, and medical emergencies often require rapid assessment and response. Delays in identifying the severity of incidents can lead to loss of lives and inefficient resource allocation. This inspired me to build an AI-powered solution that can assist responders and citizens in making faster and smarter emergency decisions.

What it does

AI-Powered Emergency Response Network analyzes emergency information provided by users and predicts the severity of the incident using machine learning.

The system provides:

  • Emergency severity prediction
  • Risk score calculation
  • Threat level assessment
  • Response time estimation
  • Nearest hospital recommendation
  • GPS-based location support
  • SOS emergency alert system
  • Safety tips and recommendations
  • Dashboard analytics
  • PDF report generation

How I built it

I developed the project using:

  • Python
  • Flask
  • Machine Learning (Random Forest)
  • Pandas
  • Scikit-learn
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
  • Plotly
  • ReportLab

A custom emergency dataset was created and used to train the prediction model.

Challenges I ran into

Some of the main challenges included:

  • Creating a meaningful emergency dataset
  • Training an accurate classification model
  • Integrating GPS location functionality
  • Designing an intuitive emergency dashboard
  • Generating dynamic reports and recommendations

What I learned

Through this project, I learned:

  • Machine Learning model development
  • Data preprocessing and feature engineering
  • Flask web development
  • Emergency response workflows
  • UI/UX design for real-world applications

Future Scope

Future improvements include:

  • Real-time integration with emergency services
  • Live disaster and traffic data
  • Mobile application support
  • AI-powered resource allocation
  • Multi-language emergency assistance

This project aims to make emergency response faster, smarter, and more accessible through the power of Artificial Intelligence.
