Inspiration
Climate disasters leave communities without timely healthcare, with aid delayed, duplicated, or misallocated. We wanted to ensure resources reach the right people at the right time.
What it does
Centralizes disaster response data—tracking resources, hospital capacity, and patient needs—to optimize aid distribution and healthcare access in real time.
How we built it
Combined real-time data feeds, AI-driven predictions for hospital strain, and an intuitive dashboard to coordinate resources, volunteers, and emergency responses.
Challenges we ran into
- Integrating data from multiple, inconsistent sources
- Predicting resource demand in unpredictable disaster scenarios
- Designing a dashboard usable in low-connectivity environments
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Developed a live dashboard for coordinated disaster response
- Reduced potential for duplicated or delayed aid distribution
- Built AI models to predict hospital strain and resource needs
What we learned
- Data accuracy and timeliness are critical in crisis scenarios
- UX for low-connectivity and high-stress situations requires thoughtful design
- Collaboration between tech, healthcare, and logistics teams is key
What's next for AI-Powered Disaster-Resilient Healthcare App
- Expand predictive capabilities for more disaster types
- Integrate with government and NGO systems for wider adoption
