Inspiration: Climate change mitigation relies heavily on carbon credits, but today’s systems face fraud, double counting, and lack of transparency. Companies often claim carbon offsets without verifiable proof.
This inspired us to design a blockchain + AI solution that can automatically verify, tokenize, and track carbon credits based on real renewable energy data — ensuring trust and transparency in the carbon economy
What it does: The platform collects IoT sensor data from renewable energy sites (solar, wind, etc.) and uses AI validation models to confirm actual emission reductions. Once verified, a smart contract automatically mints carbon credit tokens (NFT or ERC-20) on the blockchain.
These tokens represent authentic, data-backed carbon credits that can be traced, traded, or retired transparently — preventing false claims or double spending.
The system includes a dashboard for monitoring energy generation, CO₂ offsets, and live verification reports.
How we built it: | Layer | Technology |
|-------|-------------| | Frontend | React, TypeScript, TailwindCSS | | Backend | Node.js, Express | | Blockchain | Polygon, Solidity, Chainlink Functions, CCIP | | AI Layer | LangChain, OpenAI API | | IoT Simulation | MQTT, CSV/JSON live data | | Storage | IPFS, Filecoin | | Database | PostgreSQL (PLpgSQL) |
