As a student at Delhi Technological University, I personally faced challenges navigating the fragmented and often confusing workflows for admissions, hostel allotment, and fee payments. Missing updates, switching between multiple portals, and the lack of unified guidance inspired me to build a solution that could make these critical processes simple and stress-free for every student.

Campus Buddy is a browser extension that uses AI and real-time web scraping to assist DTU students throughout their admission, hostel, and fee payment journeys. It fetches and analyzes live updates from official portals, provides step-by-step guidance, offers chatbot support for queries, auto-fills forms, and tracks each student’s progress. Timely notifications ensure students never miss deadlines or important information.
\section*{How we built it}
We developed Campus Buddy using JavaScript for the browser extension framework, integrating Python-based AI modules for conversational support and web scraping utilities. The extension is designed to be user-friendly, with persistent background scripts that monitor portal changes and a chat UI powered by natural language processing for personalized interaction.

We plan to scale support for more university workflows and student services, integrate multilingual capabilities, and expand the chatbot’s intelligence. Collaborations with university administration are also being explored to offer official integration while ensuring data privacy standards. Ultimately, we aim to make Campus Buddy the go-to digital companion for every DTU student, improving efficiency and eliminating frustration across campus processes.
