Inspiration

AI development platforms such as OpenAI, Claude, and Genspark are rapidly changing how people build digital products. However, it is still difficult to compare projects created with different AI platforms in a fair, engaging, and transparent way.

We were inspired by hackathons, esports leagues, and community voting platforms. We wanted to create a space where AI-built projects could compete head-to-head, receive structured evaluations, and gain visibility through community participation. That idea became AI Platform League—a competitive arena for discovering what people can build with AI.

What it does

AI Platform League is a web-based competition platform where creators can register projects built with different AI tools and place them into one-on-one project battles.

The platform allows users to:

Register AI-powered projects Specify which AI platform or model was used Create head-to-head project battles Compare two projects on a single battle page Evaluate projects using standardized scoring criteria View final scores and battle results Explore rankings through a leaderboard Manage submitted projects through a personal dashboard

For example, a project built with Genspark can compete against one built with Claude. Each project receives a score, making it easier for the community to compare creativity, execution, usefulness, and overall quality.

How we built it

We built AI Platform League as a modern full-stack web application using Next.js and React. The user interface was designed with a dark, futuristic visual style to make each competition feel like a professional digital arena.

The system includes:

Project registration and management AI platform and tool information Battle creation and scheduling Side-by-side project comparison Score calculation and result display Leaderboard functionality User authentication and personal project management Responsive layouts for desktop and mobile devices

We used AI-assisted development throughout the process—from brainstorming and interface design to generating code, troubleshooting errors, and refining the user experience. The application was deployed on Vercel so users can access and test it online.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was designing a fair comparison system. AI projects can be very different: one may focus on productivity, another on entertainment, and another on data analysis. A simple popularity vote would not always reflect the actual quality of a project.

We also had to consider:

How to define consistent evaluation criteria How to calculate and present scores clearly How to prevent the interface from favoring one project How to manage battle start and end times How to distinguish completed, active, and upcoming battles How to organize projects created with multiple AI tools How to make the competition engaging without making it overly complicated

Creating a visually balanced battle screen was another challenge. Both projects needed equal visibility while the score, AI platform, project description, and battle status remained easy to understand.

We are proud that we transformed a simple project-comparison idea into a working AI competition platform.

Our key accomplishments include:

Building a complete project registration flow Creating a head-to-head battle experience Supporting projects made with different AI platforms Implementing structured scoring and leaderboard features Designing a consistent futuristic competition interface Deploying a functional web application that can be tested online Demonstrating how AI-assisted development can turn an idea into a usable product quickly

Most importantly, AI Platform League is not limited to showcasing a single AI product. It creates a neutral arena where multiple AI platforms and their communities can participate together.

What we learned

We learned that evaluating AI-built projects requires more than comparing the AI models themselves. The creator’s idea, prompt design, product decisions, execution quality, and understanding of users all have a major impact on the final result.

We also learned that AI-assisted development is most effective when human judgment remains at the center of the process. AI helped us accelerate implementation and explore different solutions, but decisions about product direction, evaluation criteria, fairness, and user experience still required careful human thinking.

From a technical perspective, we gained practical experience in designing reusable components, managing project and battle data, calculating scores, handling time-based battle states, and deploying a full-stack application.

What's next for AI Platform League

Our next goal is to turn AI Platform League into an open global community for AI builders, creators, and hackathon participants.

Planned improvements include:

Community voting and expert judging Detailed evaluation categories and score breakdowns User profiles, badges, and achievement systems Comments, reactions, and project feedback Team-based and tournament-style competitions Seasonal leagues for different AI platforms Hackathon-specific leaderboards Live battle updates and notifications Project verification and anti-manipulation mechanisms Multilingual support for global participation Analytics showing how different AI platforms perform APIs and integrations for external hackathons and developer communities

Ultimately, we want AI Platform League to become a place where people do more than debate which AI platform is better—they can build real products, compete with measurable results, learn from one another, and demonstrate what is possible with AI.
