Inspiration

Students often struggle to find suitable job and internship opportunities because they have to search across multiple platforms and manually check whether their skills and qualifications match each opportunity. This inspired us to build AI Placement Agent, an AI-powered solution that helps students discover, match, rank, and track relevant career opportunities.

What it does

AI Placement Agent helps students find job and internship opportunities based on their skills, qualifications, and preferences. It analyzes student profiles and job requirements, matches suitable opportunities, ranks them according to relevance, and helps students track their application progress. This makes the placement process more organized and saves time.

How we built it

We built the project by creating a system that processes student profile information and job opportunity details. The AI agent analyzes skills, qualifications, and preferences and compares them with job requirements. Based on the matching results, opportunities are ranked so that the most relevant ones appear first. We also designed a tracking feature to help students monitor opportunities and manage their application progress.

Challenges we ran into

One of our main challenges was matching student skills with job descriptions because the same skill can be described in different ways. Ranking opportunities accurately was also challenging, as we needed to determine which jobs were most relevant to each student. We also faced challenges in organizing job information and presenting the results in a simple and useful format.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of creating a solution that addresses a real problem faced by students during placements. Our AI Placement Agent brings together job discovery, profile matching, opportunity ranking, and application tracking in one system. We are especially proud that the project can help students save time and focus on opportunities that better match their profiles.

What we learned

Through this project, we learned about AI agents, recommendation and matching systems, data processing, ranking techniques, and user-focused system design. We also learned how to break a real-world problem into smaller tasks and build a solution that can make the job search process more efficient.

What's next for AI Placement Agent

In the future, we plan to improve the AI Placement Agent by adding more advanced skill matching and personalized recommendations. We would also like to integrate more job and internship sources, provide skill-gap analysis, recommend relevant courses, and add notifications for new opportunities. Our goal is to develop it into a complete AI-powered career assistant that supports students throughout their placement and job search journey.
