  When decision paralysis hits... let AI be your guide!

Inspiration :We've all experienced decision fatigue — standing in front of the fridge, endlessly scrolling Netflix, or wondering where to eat. The idea for AI Picker came from that daily struggle.

We wanted to build a tool that eliminates overthinking, by using AI and real-time APIs to offer instant smart suggestions across different parts of your life — from food, films, and music to books and travel.n

What it does AI Picker uses GPT-powered intelligence to suggest personalized content based on your mood or need:

What to Watch – Movies/shows based on your current vibe

What to Eat – AI-curated meal suggestions

Where to Go / Eat – Location-based travel or restaurant ideas

What to Read / Gift – Books and gift recommendations from curated datasets

What to Listen – Music & podcast suggestions using YouTube and Spotify

With one click, the app decides for you — and even plays matching music or displays nearby venues.

How we built it We used Bolt as our core platform and prototyped on Replit. The frontend is built with React using Tailwind CSS, and the brain of the app runs on OpenAI’s GPT-4 to interpret user moods and give decisions.

We integrated:

🎶 YouTube iFrame API – To auto-play mood-based music

📚 Open Library API – To recommend books by topic

📍 Geoapify API – To find places (cafes, museums, parks) near the user

🧠 Custom GPT prompts – To guide decision-making with natural language

🔊 TTS AI (voice tools) – To deliver entertaining feedback in demo

Challenges we ran into Syncing YouTube audio controls with React was tricky

Finding free, open APIs for music, books, and location services

Making the interface mobile responsive and user-friendly

Avoiding rate-limits & ensuring performance during multiple mood queries
