Inspiration
I noticed that turning a single photo into a great-looking video still takes too much time and effort - even with today's tools. I wanted to fix that and make video creation as easy as snapping a photo.
What it does
Snimo AI takes a photo and turns it into a short video with smooth motion, effects, and transitions—automatically. It’s built for people who want something eye-catching to share without having to edit.
How we built it
I built Snimo AI using React Native with Expo, connected it to AI-powered video generation tools, and focused on keeping the app lightweight and responsive. Most of the heavy lifting happens behind the scenes so the user experience stays smooth.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenges were making sure videos render quickly without sacrificing quality, and managing file sizes on mobile. I also had to rethink how previews and downloads should work to keep things simple for users.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Snimo AI launched smoothly and started picking up users organically right away. We’re especially proud of the feedback we’ve gotten about how easy and fun it is to use—exactly what we were aiming for.
What we learned
Simplicity wins. People don’t want to fiddle with settings—they just want results that look good.
What’s next for AI Photo To Video Maker: SnimoAI
We’re working on adding more video styles, and ways to animate multiple photos. We also plan to integrate trending effects and templates so users can stay ahead on platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
