Inspiration

We noticed that the most valuable career opportunities are rarely found on traditional job platforms. Instead, they are scattered across LinkedIn posts, X (Twitter) threads, Reddit communities, and startup newsletters—making them invisible to most people. We built this product to surface those hidden signals and turn the fragmented internet into a meaningful opportunity feed.

What it does

AI Opportunity Link is an AI-native platform that aggregates hiring and collaboration signals from across the internet and transforms them into swipeable opportunity cards. Users browse a Hinge-style feed of real-world opportunities such as early-stage hiring, cofounder searches, and startup collaborations, and can instantly connect with relevant people.

How we built it

We built a multi-source ingestion pipeline to collect public posts from platforms like LinkedIn, X, and Reddit. An LLM-based system then extracts intent, identifies opportunity signals, and structures the data into standardized opportunity cards. A ranking model scores relevance based on user profiles and signal strength. The frontend is built as a mobile-first swipe interface inspired by Hinge.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was distinguishing real opportunities from general content noise. Many posts are ambiguous or lack explicit hiring intent. We also faced difficulties normalizing data across different platforms and ensuring ranking quality without overfitting to keywords.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully built a system that transforms fragmented, unstructured internet content into a real-time, personalized opportunity feed. The swipe-based UX makes career discovery feel intuitive, fast, and engaging rather than overwhelming.

What we learned

We learned that opportunity discovery is not a search problem, but an interpretation problem. The real value comes from understanding intent and context rather than matching keywords. We also learned how powerful cross-platform aggregation can be when combined with LLM-based reasoning.

What's next for AI Opportunity Link

Next, we plan to expand data sources, improve intent detection accuracy, and build a two-sided network where users can not only discover opportunities but also be discovered. We also aim to add real-time alerts, smarter matching models, and deeper social graph understanding to make opportunity discovery even more proactive.
