AI Nametags

Inspiration

Have you ever wondered how to create personalized nametags through technology and artificial intelligence? Well, AI Nametags is an app created with Artificial Intelligence, also known as AI, to help find out current preferences of people with different genders and age groups. All of this happens through a survey which creates name tags based off of the form’s results.

What it does

Our process is very easy. This is how it works, first you select, which means to fill in the answers to the survey. Next, submit, simply just click on the submit button. And finally, you can share, which means to tell everyone your experience with our product. Our main goal is essentially for all of you to share AI Nametags to your family and friends so that our system can have more accurate results based off of everyone’s age and gender survey responses.

How we built it

I started with critical thinking which involved actually coming up with the main idea, especially since the criteria was to use AI. Next, designing by visualizing a rough brainstorm. After that I started programming, and I coded on HTML using Atom. Then, I was creating the appearance and personalization the page of the website to make it a little more attracting. The main road blocker was the testing process, cause you really need to make sure there are no errors in the code. Even if 1 thing isn’t working right, it’s a big problem. Lastly, publishing the HTML file to make it a proper website.

Challenges we ran into

Testing it over and over again was a big thing that took a long time to get over with. It's hard when you can't find that one extra letter or piece of punctuation, but luckily my guidance and biggest support, Aditi Kansal, kept me on the track.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

There are over 2240 different combinations you can create using each button in another way. Creating a website useful for everyone as a source of entertainment AI Nametags will surely encourage other Grade 7 students to start programming with AI and HTML.

What we learned

HTML!!! I had never ever used HTML in my life before this Hackathon, so I found it very interesting and I loved how the website actually came to life how I wanted it to. I will never forget this project! :)

What's next for AI Nametags

My goal is for other young children to start website design and then correlating the information collected from different sources to derive intelligence.
