Inspiration
Winter has just begun in Korea, and it’s my favorite season. It’s a time when many couples make warm memories, but I wanted to explore the opposite side of it — a breakup. That became the theme for my AI music video.
What it does
This project tells the story of a woman who struggles to accept her breakup. She holds on to the past for most of the video, but in the end, she makes a bold decision: she takes off the scarf her ex gave her and walks toward a new chapter. This isn’t only about new relationships — I wanted it to reflect the many challenges people face in life.
How we built it
I used various tools including Premiere Pro, ChatGPT, Midjourney, SUNO, Kling AI, and Nanobanana. I generated images through prompts, refined parts I didn't like using Nanobanana, then extracted them as video clips and completed the final edit in Premiere Pro.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was getting AI to create the composition I wanted. The second was handling the character’s eye direction and lip-sync, which were surprisingly difficult.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I’m especially proud of the opening highlight scene where the woman walks through the falling snow. Honestly, I think I fell in love with that shot myself, haha.
What we learned
I learned how important it is to build prompts around the character’s expression, movement, background, and composition. The storyboard also played a crucial role in guiding the entire project.
What's next for AI Music Video
AI work can be expensive, and as a student I didn’t have much financial flexibility. AI is becoming popular in Korea, but schools aren’t fully supporting it yet, so resources were limited. Even so, I want to explore more AI tools and push this kind of creative work further.
