Inspiration
After You Left began as a question: can AI capture the subtle emotions and micro-expressions that make us human? I wanted to create something that felt universal: the feelings after heartbreak but with 100% AI.
What it does
"After You Left" is a 3-minute AI music video that tells the story of heartbreak and rebirth across five cultures. Every element: faces, voices, motion, was generated using multimodal AI tools. The result blends visual storytelling, multilingual lyrics, and emotional sound design into a single cinematic performance.
How we built it
- Music: Suno AI
- Visuals: Midjourney + Nano Banana
- Movement & lipsync: WAN + fal
- Editing: Final Cut Pro
Challenges we ran into
Capturing genuine emotion with synthetic characters was harder than I imagined. Facial micro-expressions often felt hollow, so I experimented with countless prompts and models. Synchronizing lips and gestures across multiple languages also required meticulous timing and iteration.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
After posting on LinkedIn, seeing this resonate globally was surreal (https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7381738905915564032/) Over 300 people reached out, sharing that it is one of the most emotionally resonant, aesthetic, and relatable AI music videos they’d seen, and asking for tutorials.
What we learned
Emotion and taste aren’t by-products of technology — they’re design choices. The key to meaningful AI art isn’t perfection, but intentional imperfection — the small pauses, glitches, and asymmetries that make something feel real.
What's next for AI Music Video: After You Left
My goal is to create content that connects people. I’m continuing to create emotionally driven AI music videos to push the medium beyond technical experiments, toward a new, expressive art form that connects people through shared feelings.
