Inspiration
The idea for this trailer came from the growing fascination with anonymous digital identities and the tension between privacy and surveillance in modern life. I wanted to explore the mythos of the “unknown hacker”—a figure who exists entirely between encrypted layers, never fully seen, only felt through their impact. The project became a way to blend cinematic storytelling with AI tools to create a dark, atmospheric narrative.
What It Does
The trailer introduces a fictional, mysterious hacker whose existence threatens a hidden network of powerful entities. It doesn’t reveal their identity or motives—instead, it builds suspense through visuals, voiceover, and fragmented scenes. The goal is to create the feeling of a full cyber-thriller film condensed into a short, high-intensity preview.
How I Built It
I combined multiple AI tools, each serving a different part of the cinematic pipeline:
- OpenArt — generated concept images, characters, environments, and style references.
- Kling AI — turned those images and prompts into motion, producing the video shots.
- ElevenLabs — created the voiceover narration with a controlled tone and pacing.
- CapCut — used for editing, transitions, cut timing, motion graphics, and sound design.
Using these tools together allowed the trailer to be constructed in layers: concept → motion → voice → editing.
Challenges I Ran Into
One of the biggest challenges was maintaining visual consistency across scenes generated by different tools. Style drift, lighting mismatches, and continuity issues appeared frequently.
Another challenge was audio—finding music that fit the mood without triggering copyright issues. Even short segments of copyrighted tracks required careful replacement.
Synchronizing AI-generated narration with fast-paced cuts also required significant manual adjustment.
Accomplishments I’m Proud Of
I’m proud that the entire trailer—from visuals to soundtrack to voiceover—was created without traditional filming. The final result feels cohesive, cinematic, and atmospheric despite being built from fragmented AI outputs.
I also experimented with using multiple generative tools together and succeeded in creating a unified narrative tone.
What I Learned
I learned how different AI systems can complement each other when building a full visual production pipeline.
I also gained experience in:
- prompt engineering for consistent characters
- pacing and structure in trailer editing
- mixing AI audio so it feels smooth and intentional
- resolving copyright-flagged audio elements
What’s Next for the Project
I plan to expand the concept into a short film or episodic micro-series, deepening the world behind the hacker character.
Future steps include developing a clearer storyline, generating more action sequences, and exploring custom soundtracks to avoid licensing issues entirely.
