Inspiration

I am inspired by how challenging it is to turn raw materials like long texts, videos, or notes into something visual and easy to grasp. Many students and professionals struggle to organize raw resources and the ideas in their minds. Yet, people tend to learn more efficiently and quickly when information is presented visually. So I wanted to build an efficient add-on that helps people simplify and organize resources and ideas faster, using AI to reduce manual work and boost creativity.

What it does

This add-on takes different types of input like typed text, YouTube video links, website URLs, or uploaded files and uses AI to understand the content. Then it generates a visual mind map that shows the main topics and subtopics. Users can choose styles, themes, and even customize the map, all from within Adobe Express.

How we built it

Currently, I only have a prototype but I am planning to build this add-on using:

  • Adobe Express Add-ons SDK for integration into Express

  • HTML/CSS/JavaScript for the UI

  • Gemini API to process the input and extract the main topics and subtopics

  • jsMind library to create and display the mind map

  • GitHub for version control

The mind map will be rendered inside an iframe within the Express UI, allowing real-time interaction. I also plan to see Adobe’s Add-ons documentation and use sample projects to better understand how to fully support input features, layout management, and interactivity in the add-on.

Challenges we ran into

The only main challenge would be understanding how to work with the Adobe Express SDK because I didnt develop on that environment before but I can figure it out, there are some great docs and samples.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Currently I have successfully built a working prototype that shows how users will interact with the add-on. It clearly demonstrates the core idea and user flow.
