AI Meme Generator

Inspiration

We wanted to make meme creation effortless and fun, combining humour with AI so anyone could generate shareable content instantly.

What it does

Our AI Meme Generator lets users input text prompts to automatically generate memes, matching captions to templates or creating new meme images from scratch.

How we built it

We used a React frontend for the interface and a Python backend for AI-powered caption generation and image creation. Memes are generated dynamically using custom templates and AI models.

Challenges we ran into

• AI's responses being returned in the format we wanted.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Seamless integration of AI captioning and meme templates.
• A fully functional prototype hosted on EC2, despite crashing the server multiple times.

What we learned

• Best practices for React-Python full-stack communication.
• Version control in a group.

What's next for AI Meme Generator

• Add the ability to download/favourite memes.
• Increase the template dataset.
• Improve system and user prompts
