Inspiration

Efficient meeting management is a challenge for many teams. We were inspired by the need to streamline meeting processes by providing automated summaries and actionable insights, integrating them seamlessly into existing tools like Confluence and Jira.

What it does

The AI Meeting Summarizer:

• Transcribes meeting audio to text.
• Summarizes key points and generates action items.
• Automatically creates Confluence pages for summaries.
• Creates Jira issues for actionable tasks, linking them with relevant team members.

How we built it

• Backend: Python and Flask for the core application logic.
• Frontend: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for a user-friendly interface.
• AI: Julep API (GPT-4) for summarization and SpeechRecognition library for transcription.
• Integrations:
  • Google APIs for Calendar and Gmail integration.
  • Atlassian APIs for Confluence and Jira automation.

Challenges we ran into

• Formatting content in Atlassian Document Format for Jira's description field.
• Handling API authentication and ensuring secure access.
• Balancing transcription accuracy with processing speed.
