Inspiration
This project was inspired by the idea of imagining what a fully AI-generated K-Pop music video would look like-where every element, from the visuals to the choreography, to the music itself, was created using AI tools. I wanted to combine the aesthetics of modern K-Pop girl groups with the power of next-generation AI models to see if a complete performance could be built from scratch.
What it does
This project produced a complete K-Pop-style music video featuring:
- AI-generated original music
- AI-generated visual characters
- AI-based dance choreography
- Lip-sync animations that match the vocals
The edited sequences form a complete, high-energy music video The result is a fully AI-generated performance that looks and feels like a real music video.
How we built it
- Music: Original instrumental and vocal elements were produced using Minimax Audio.
- Visuals: Character and scene designs were generated using Whisk (Google Labs).
- Video & Motion: Used Google Veo 3.1, Kling Turbo via FlexClip, and Minimax Hailuo.
- Lip Syncing: Used Pixverse to match lip sync to AI vocals.
- Editing: Final assembly, cutting, syncing, transitions, and color adjustments were done using "Video Maker".
Challenges we ran into
- Lip syncing accuracy varied and required repeated refinement.
- Maintaining a consistent character look across multiple AI tools was a challenge.
- Rendering delays and processing times created time pressure leading up to the deadline.
- Combining results from multiple video generators required additional editing to ensure a cohesive feel.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Successfully creating a full-length music video using only AI-powered tools.
- Creating original music that matches the style and energy of K-Pop.
- Achieving smooth choreography synchronization to the beat.
- Successfully producing a visually consistent music video despite using multiple AI systems.
- Completing the project before the competition deadline.
What we learned
- How to build a multi-tool AI workflow (drawing → animation → music → lip-sync → editing).
- The strengths and weaknesses of each AI tool and how to combine them effectively.
- Improving our understanding of tempo, timing, and flow in music video editing.-
- Learning how to address inconsistencies in AI-generated visuals and movement.
What's next for AI K-Pop Music Video | Chroma Awards Submission
- Developing the project into a full-fledged multi-song AI "virtual girl group."
- Creating more sophisticated choreography using enhanced motion models.
- Adding narrative storylines and cinematic scenes to upcoming music videos.
- Improving sound production for more realistic vocals and harmonies.
- Exploring the possibilities of real-time AI performances
