Inspiration

Finding relevant jobs in Africa is still a slow, frustrating, and manual process. Most platforms either show irrelevant results or don't help users understand how to improve their resumes.

What It Does

AI Job Assistant uses GenAI to analyze a user’s resume, suggest matching roles, and fetch real job links based on location, skills, and preferences. It also simulates WhatsApp alerts in local languages and allows users to “save” job links in a dashboard — like a shopping cart for careers.

How I Built It

• Frontend: React + TypeScript
• AI Logic: Together AI (Bolt prompts)
• Resume Parsing: GenAI prompt + smart formatting
• Job Links: Scraped from real Nigerian job boards and company sites (Paystack, Interswitch, etc.)
• Storage: Local state for demo; extendable to Firebase or Supabase

Challenges

• Real job data filtering for skills/role match
• Making prompt responses low-token + useful
• Designing for mobile-first and multi-language alerts

Learnings

• Leveraging LLMs without backend
• Building real-world UX in < 72 hours
• Prompt engineering for real value delivery
