Inspiration
Many students struggle to prepare for technical and HR interviews because they lack personalized feedback. Traditional mock interviews require mentors or paid platforms, which are not accessible to everyone. We wanted to create an AI-powered interview coach that helps students practice interviews anytime, receive instant feedback, and improve their confidence
What it does
AI Interview Coach is an intelligent web application that simulates real interview experiences using Artificial Intelligence.

How we built it
The project combines Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Computer Vision.
Tech Stack Frontend: React.js, Tailwind CSS Backend: FastAPI (Python) Database: MongoDB Machine Learning: Scikit-learn, Hugging Face Transformers Computer Vision: OpenCV, MediaPipe Speech Recognition: Whisper API AI Models: Llama 3 / GPT-based language model Deployment: Vercel (Frontend) and Render (Backend)
The frontend provides a clean interface where users upload resumes and start mock interviews. The backend processes resumes, generates interview questions, analyzes speech and facial expressions, and provides AI-powered feedback.
Challenges we ran into
Integrating multiple AI models into one workflow. Detecting facial expressions accurately under different lighting conditions. Reducing response time for AI-generated interview questions. Handling speech recognition for different accents. Optimizing computer vision models for real-time performance. Creating meaningful interview feedback instead of generic responses.
