🛰️ About the Project: “AI in Gravitational Wave Modeling”

What inspired me to choose this topic was the discovery of gravitational waves in 2015 — a breakthrough that completely changed how we understand the universe. I was fascinated by how incredibly small and hard-to-detect these waves are, and I wanted to explore how Artificial Intelligence helps scientists find and study them faster. Through my research, I learned how deep learning algorithms like convolutional neural networks can detect signals buried in noise, and how neural networks can estimate properties like black hole masses in seconds instead of days. Building this project involved studying how LIGO works, how AI models are trained, and how real-time analysis supports multi-messenger astronomy. One major challenge was simplifying such a complex scientific topic into something understandable while still keeping it accurate. But in the end, it taught me how powerful AI can be — not just in technology, but in helping us uncover the deepest mysteries of space.
