Inspiration

Game development is a long and expensive process and it involves a multitude of different areas of speciality. There are narrative writers, level designers, illustrators, executive producers, playtesters, qa testers etc. As game developers we were excited with generative AI as it can help solve a lot of problems regarding resource access that indie game developers simply don't have the time or money to utilize.

What it does

Minnal does three things

  • One is a powerful storyboarding tool that can be used to dream up any story and any scenario you want, illustrate it and narrate it.
  • One is a powerful generation tool for prompts inside video games.
  • One is a video transcription api

How we built it

React / Node / NextJs for the main stack

Replicate for Stable Diffusion Prompts Assembly AI for transcription OpenAi for GPT-3 prompts

Challenges we ran into

Tried using CohereAi's API for story generation but couldn't get the prompt engineering to work properly.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Getting the storyboarding working great. Getting the prompts working great.

What we learned

This was fun! Learnt a lot.

What's next for Minnal

Will probably use a lot of the tech we built for Minnal in our current startup.
