Inspiration

I wanted to create something fun and lightweight that showed how far a single creative prompt could go. I’ve always loved how fortune cookies mix mystery and humor, so I decided to bring that concept into the AI world letting a language model act as a poetic, chaotic digital fortune teller.

What it does

AI Fortune Teller Generator turns AI into a virtual oracle. Each time you ask for your “fortune,” it creates short, witty predictions that blend technology with human emotions, like:

“Your heart will buffer, then reboot, love’s update patch installs tonight.” “Your soul’s Wi-Fi reconnects at midnight — expect a download of chaos, glitter, and maybe someone’s unsent text from 2017.”

It’s simple, funny, and strangely relatable.

How we built it

The project was built entirely through prompt engineering using ChatGPT. I refined the wording of a single instruction — adjusting tone words like “chaotic,” “witty,” and “exuberant” until the fortunes felt spontaneous, emotional, and tech-inspired. No code, no backend just creativity, iteration, and curiosity.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was balancing humor and meaning. If the prompt was too short, the results were bland; too detailed, and the AI lost its spontaneity. Finding that perfect middle ground where the model sounded funny and profound was trickier than expected.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I’m proud of how expressive the fortunes became with just one prompt. This small experiment proved that great results don’t always need big models or code, sometimes, just clever phrasing and imagination are enough to make something magical.

What we learned

Prompt wording is like coding emotions. Tiny changes — an adjective, a tone hint, or a character limit can completely shift how the AI “thinks.” This taught me to treat prompts as a creative design process, not just instructions.

What's next for AI Fortune Teller Generator

Next, I’d love to expand it into an interactive daily fortune web app or a Discord bot where users can “open” a digital cookie each day. It could even generate themed fortunes (love, tech, career, chaos) or collaborate with visual AIs to create matching images for each prediction.
