Inspiration

AI agents are moving beyond chat and code generation. They can operate infrastructure, read telemetry, modify code, coordinate across nodes, and trigger actions with real business impact. In high-stakes domains like finance, that creates a new problem: how do you govern an autonomous system that can mutate its own behavior?

AI-Fi Sovereign Sentinel was inspired by our broader AI-Fi architecture: a distributed autonomous financial system with five-node consensus, AST-based strategy mutation, state-preserving hot swaps, out-of-band sentinel review, and rollback-to-safe-state logic. For this public hackathon submission, we focused on the governance layer: how UiPath Maestro Case can turn high-impact autonomous events into auditable human-supervised cases.

What it does

AI-Fi Sovereign Sentinel is a UiPath-oriented control plane for self-mutating autonomous financial agents.

It takes events such as:

  • strategy mutation proposals
  • risk-bound changes
  • consensus vote outcomes
  • capital-sweep requests
  • sentinel anomaly alerts
  • rollback-required events

and routes them through a governed case workflow:

  1. Event intake
  2. Action classification
  3. Mutation review
  4. Safety sentinel review
  5. Consensus verification
  6. Human approval or override
  7. Deploy, pause, or rollback routing
  8. Final audit summary

The key idea is simple: autonomous agents can recommend and prepare actions, but high-impact decisions should remain reviewable, interruptible, and auditable.

How we built it

We designed the system around UiPath Maestro Case as the orchestration layer. The public prototype uses sanitized/mock AI-Fi telemetry events and a case workflow that maps each event to review tasks, consensus checks, human approval, and final audit output.

The repo includes sample event payloads, agent specifications, architecture notes, and a public-safe implementation plan. It intentionally excludes private infrastructure, trading logic, wallet keys, broker credentials, live balances, and proprietary AI-Fi internals.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was scope. AI-Fi itself is a much larger autonomous architecture, but a public hackathon submission should not expose sensitive infrastructure or patented internals. We had to translate the core breakthrough into a safe, judgeable workflow: governance around self-mutating agents.

Another challenge was showing autonomy without overclaiming. We designed the demo around sanitized events so the workflow can be evaluated without live trading, capital movement, or private cluster access.

Accomplishments

  • Designed a governance pattern for self-mutating autonomous agents.
  • Created a public-safe case workflow for mutation, anomaly, consensus, and rollback events.
  • Built sample event payloads and agent specs for review, safety, and consensus verification.
  • Framed UiPath as the enterprise control plane around high-impact agentic systems.

What we learned

The more powerful an agent becomes, the more important orchestration becomes. Logs are not enough. High-stakes autonomous systems need case state, review gates, human override, rollback paths, and audit-ready evidence.

UiPath is valuable here because it can coordinate agents, humans, APIs, and process state in one governed workflow.

What's next

Next steps are to connect Sovereign Sentinel to live sanitized AI-Fi telemetry, implement the full Maestro Case workflow in UiPath Automation Cloud, add policy-as-code mutation approval, visualize five-node consensus, and generate tamper-evident audit/lineage records.
