Inspiration
Math creators still spend too much time retyping equations from notes, screenshots, and handwriting. AI Equation Editor was built to make equation creation feel as direct as explaining the math.
What it does
AI Equation Editor turns natural language, images, or handwritten math into editable LaTeX. It gives students, educators, researchers, and technical writers a fast online workflow for creating clean equations.
How I built it
The product combines AI-assisted math parsing, OCR for visual inputs, and a browser-based equation editing experience.
Challenges I ran into
The main challenge is preserving mathematical structure while keeping the generated LaTeX editable and practical for real writing workflows.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
The tool supports multiple input styles and keeps the output focused on useful, editable equations instead of static images.
What I learned
A good math workflow needs both recognition and editing: users need to refine formulas after AI/OCR creates the first draft.
What's next for AI Equation Editor
More polishing around equation editing, image recognition quality, and educational workflows.
