Inspiration
We have observed that access to healthcare remains a major challenge in many regions, particularly here in West Africa. One of the biggest issues is the lack of a digital patient identification system, which leads to delays in medical care and difficulties in retrieving medical records. Inspired by this challenge, we aim to develop an AI-enhanced health identification system to predict emergency cases and take preventive measures accordingly, while using biometrics to improve healthcare accessibility and efficiency.
What We Learned
This project will allow us to explore biometric identification technologies, AI-powered predictive analytics, and secure medical data management. We also plan to familiarize ourselves with database security, healthcare system interoperability, and possibly other technologies such as IoT and cloud computing.
Construction
Our system include:
A biometric identification module (facial recognition and/or fingerprint scanning). A secure medical record storage system with efficient patient data access (cloud-based). An AI-powered predictive analytics engine to provide insights and necessary information to healthcare professionals.
Challenges
Ensuring data security and compliance with medical regulations. Developing a reliable AI model for predictive healthcare analytics. Making the system accessible in low-connectivity or no-connectivity regions. Ensuring interoperability with existing healthcare systems.
