Inspiration:

The inspiration behind the "AI Dustbin Teller" project stems from the urgent need to address the growing global issue of waste management and environmental sustainability. We were motivated by the desire to create a solution that simplifies and incentivizes proper waste disposal, making it more accessible and engaging for individuals and communities.

What it does:

The "AI Dustbin Teller" is an innovative waste disposal solution that uses artificial intelligence (AI) and computer vision to encourage responsible waste management. It can identify and sort waste items, providing real-time feedback to users. This feedback could be in the form of rewards, information, or feedback on their waste disposal habits, aiming to promote eco-friendly choices.

How we built it:

We built the "AI Dustbin Teller" by integrating computer vision technology with AI algorithms. Our system utilizes a network of cameras and sensors placed in and around waste disposal bins. These devices capture and analyze images of discarded items, and the AI algorithm processes the data to determine the type of waste. We also developed a user-friendly interface to provide feedback to users.

Challenges we ran into:

Data Training: Collecting and training the AI model with a diverse range of waste items was a significant challenge. Ensuring accurate identification and classification required extensive data sets.

Hardware Integration: Integrating cameras and sensors into existing waste disposal infrastructure posed technical challenges, including power supply and connectivity.
