Inspiration

The need for proactive safety systems that predict and prevent, rather than just react. Vision of building smarter, safer cities using AI and IoT.

What it does

Uses AI-powered smart surveillance to detect suspicious behavior, weapons, accidents, and fire hazards. Provides real-time anomaly detection and alerts authorities instantly.

How we built it

Computer Vision & Deep Learning (CNN, YOLO): For behavior, weapon, and anomaly detection. IoT & Edge Devices: For real-time monitoring of public areas. NLP: AI assistant for multi-language emergency guidance.

Challenges we ran into

Handling privacy concerns while using surveillance data. Reducing false positives in anomaly and threat detection. Integrating real-time AI on edge devices with limited processing power.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Developed a working prototype for real-time anomaly detection. Designed a predictive safety model that highlights crime-prone zones. Built a mobile app with AI-verified reporting and safe navigation.

What we learned

Practical applications of AI/ML in public safety and surveillance. Importance of ethical AI and handling sensitive data responsibly

What's next for AI-Driven Public Safety Guardian

Expanding to predictive disaster management (floods, earthquakes, wildfires). Integration with autonomous drones for live monitoring.

I’m excited to share the progress of my project AI-Driven Public Safety Guardian (PSG) – an AI-powered platform designed to make our cities safer through smart surveillance, predictive analytics, and real-time emergency response. Recent Developments Integrated computer vision for anomaly detection (detecting fights, weapons, and unusual crowd behavior). Built a crime hotspot predictor that identifies high-risk areas using historical data. Developed a citizen mobile app prototype that allows safe-route navigation and AI-verified incident reporting. Implemented real-time alert system that connects directly to police, ambulance, and fire services. Next steps include: Expanding the mobile app with multi-language AI emergency assistant. Integrating drone-based monitoring for faster response in congested areas. Strengthening data privacy and security using blockchain. Our mission is simple but powerful: “Predict. Prevent. Protect.”
