Inspiration

Scams are becoming increasingly convincing, while many scam detectors simply return “scam” or “not a scam.” We wanted to build an AI guardian that investigates suspicious content, explains the evidence, and helps users understand what could happen next.

What We Built

AI Digital Guardian is an AI-powered digital threat investigation platform. Multiple specialized AI agents analyze scam indicators, psychological manipulation, URLs, factual claims, and images/OCR. Their findings are combined through a deterministic Risk Fusion Engine to produce an explainable trust assessment and actionable recommendation.

The platform also creates a Threat DNA fingerprint to identify recurring patterns in previously analyzed threats, simulates potential attack chains, and provides personalized safety lessons.

How We Built It

We used Python and FastAPI for the backend and React/JavaScript for the frontend, integrating AI/LLM APIs, OCR, URL analysis, fact checking, similarity matching, caching, rate limiting, and error handling.

Challenges & Learning

The biggest challenges were combining different AI outputs reliably, making the results explainable, and handling API failures and timeouts. We learned that effective AI applications require more than a model—they need orchestration, validation, deterministic logic, and a user experience that helps people understand and act on the results.
