Inspiration

This entire project, "AI Crime File," is an original concept developed by me. I was inspired by classic neo-noir crime sagas and wanted to create a dark, complex anti-hero—the 'Panda Reporter'—who is both a journalist and a unique vigilante. The primary goal was to see how far I could push cutting-edge AI tools to tell a compelling story.

How we built it

The trailer was created entirely on an Android mobile device , which presented significant technical hurdles. The pipeline involved several powerful AI tools:

  1. Idea & Prompting:The initial character and scene ideas were my own. I used Gemini to refine the prompts necessary for image generation.
  2. Image & Asset Generation:Key visual assets and starting images were generated using Nano and SeedDream.
  3. Video Generation:The cinematic motion and transformation were executed using both Image-to-Video and Text-to-Video capabilities of Gemini and Veo .
  4. Audio: The realistic voice-over and dramatic sound effects (Sound FX) and background music 🎵 were created using ElevenLabs .
  5. Post-Production: All final editing, music layering, color correction, and subtitling were done in CapCut . Lypsing sync using polo ai ## Challenges we ran into The project faced two major challenges:
  6. Character Consistency: Maintaining the consistent look and costume of the 'Panda Reporter' across different AI-generated video clips was extremely difficult.
  7. Mobile Limitation: Creating a project of this complexity using only an Android mobile phone was the greatest technical hurdle, demanding creative workarounds for rendering and file management.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully executed a complex, multi-tool AI pipeline: We integrated Gemini, Veo, Nano, SeedDream, and ElevenLabs, along with CapCut editing, to create a final cohesive product. Creating a Unique Visual Identity: We successfully established the look and feel of the 'Panda Reporter'—a dark, stylized character in a flooded, neo-noir world—a visual story that stands out. Mobile-First Production: We managed to deliver a high-quality cinematic trailer entirely using an Android mobile device , overcoming the significant technical limitations of mobile-based AI video creation.

What we learned

Mastering Prompt Engineering for Consistency: We learned the critical importance of highly detailed and repetitive prompting to maintain the character consistency (the Panda's jacket, mask, and face) across different video clips generated by AI. Workflow Optimization: We learned how to efficiently manage large files and complex video segments within a mobile environment, optimizing the post-production workflow in CapCut to handle AI-generated footage. The Power of Sound: We realized how much a dark, custom-made audio track and high-quality Sound FX (created via ElevenLabs) can elevate the emotional impact of AI-generated visuals.

What's next for Ai crime file

Full Short Film Development: The immediate next step is to expand this trailer into a full-fledged 3 to 5 -minute short story. This short film will fully showcase the Panda Reporter's dual identity and his unique method of delivering justice to the worst criminals. Expand the Saga: We aim to use this short film as a pilot to explore a larger episodic crime saga, detailing the dystopic world and the moral complexities of our anti-hero. Future AI Tools: We will continue to incorporate newer AI video generation tools as they become available to further enhance visual quality and consistency in the next production.
