Inspiration The idea for AI Cookie originated from wanting to combine the fun and mystery of cracking fortune cookies with the power of AI, offering daily personalized advice, career tips, and motivation in an accessible, engaging way.
What it does AI Cookie provides daily nuggets of wisdom, tech trends, decision support, and wellbeing nudges by cracking a virtual cookie. Users select categories and optionally ask questions, then receive AI-generated, formatted advice or insights.
How I built it The app is built with Python Flask as the backend API serving AI-generated advice. The frontend uses HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create a responsive and accessible user interface with interactive cookie cracking animations and formatted advice display. The app is deployed on Render for reliable cloud hosting.
Challenges I ran into Formatting AI-generated text dynamically for clear UI presentation. Handling asynchronous calls and managing loading states for smooth UX. Integrating environment variables and securing API keys on Render.
Accomplishments that we're proud of Creating a unique, fun user experience themed around fortune cookies. Successfully integrating AI to generate personalized, varied advice. Deploying a robust and accessible web app with polished UI/UX design. Establishing an automated deployment pipeline with Render.
What I learned Working with AI APIs and formatting responses into HTML for rich content. Managing state and interactions in frontend JavaScript. Git collaboration and conflict resolution best practices. Cloud deployment workflows and environment configuration.
What's next for AI Cookie Implementing user profiles to save and personalize advice history. Adding more AI categories and fine-tuning responses for tone and length. Multi-language support for a global audience. Mobile app version with push notifications for daily tips.
