Inspiration

Public complaint systems are often slow and ineffective due to unclear and unstructured reports. We wanted to use AI to make civic issue reporting smarter, clearer, and more impactful.

What it does

The AI Complaint Assistant analyzes user-reported issues, determines their severity and impact, and automatically generates a professional complaint directed to the appropriate authority.

How we built it

We built a full-stack application using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the frontend, Flask and Python for the backend, and Google Gemini API for intelligent analysis and text generation.

Challenges we ran into

Ensuring consistent AI responses, handling varied user inputs, and balancing simplicity with meaningful analysis were the main challenges.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully built and deployed an end-to-end AI-powered system that turns raw user input into actionable, structured complaints.

What we learned

We learned how to integrate generative AI into real-world applications, design effective prompts, and deploy a full-stack Flask project.

What's next for AI complaint assistant

We plan to add multilingual support, image-based issue detection, complaint tracking, and integration with official civic platforms.
