Inspiration
Every day, citizens face issues such as potholes, garbage accumulation, water leakage, and damaged streetlights. Reporting these problems is often slow, unorganized, and lacks transparency. We built AI Civic Guardian to simplify complaint reporting using AI while helping government departments resolve issues faster and more efficiently.
What it does
AI Civic Guardian is an AI-powered civic complaint management platform that enables citizens to report public issues, automatically classifies complaints, assigns them to the appropriate department, prioritizes urgent cases, and allows real-time complaint tracking. Government officials can monitor and resolve complaints through a centralized dashboard.
How we built it
We developed the application using React, TypeScript, Node.js, Express.js, Tailwind CSS, Google Gemini AI, Firebase, and Google Cloud Run. AI analyzes complaint descriptions and categorizes them automatically for faster processing.
Challenges we ran into
Designing a user-friendly interface. Integrating AI for complaint classification. Building citizen and government dashboards. Deploying the application within the hackathon timeline.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Developed a complete AI-powered civic complaint platform. Implemented automatic complaint categorization. Created dedicated dashboards for citizens and government officials. Successfully deployed the application online.
What we learned
This project enhanced our knowledge of AI integration, full-stack web development, cloud deployment, responsive UI design, and teamwork.
