Inspiration

PromptKaart was born from a simple pain point — constantly searching for good prompts, forgetting the ones that worked, or wishing there was a way to learn from others' creative use of AI. With the rise of tools like ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini, and MidJourney, we felt the need for a centralized, real-time platform where users could not only discover and copy prompts but also see their results and engage with a community of prompt enthusiasts.

We were inspired to make prompt engineering more accessible, collaborative, and fun.

What it does

  1. PromptKaart is a mobile app that allows users to:
  2. Browse and search AI prompts from models like ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini, and MidJourney
  3. View actual outputs generated by those prompts
  4. Submit their own prompts via a simple form or with multiple images using AI assistance
  5. Like, comment, and bookmark prompts to build a personal library
  6. Engage with the community through real-time updates

It acts as both a creative hub and a productivity tool for prompt engineers, creators, and learners.

How we built it

  1. Frontend: Built using React Native for a seamless cross-platform experience
  2. Backend: Supabase for real-time database, storage, and authentication
  3. AI Integrations: APIs and SDKs to pull prompt-output data from multiple AI models
  4. Media Management: Supabase storage to handle image-heavy prompt submissions
  5. Realtime UX: Used supabase realtime update feature to ensure all user activity is updated live without refresh

Challenges we ran into

  1. Unifying Outputs: Different AI platforms return different kinds of content — formatting and displaying them cohesively was a challenge
  2. Image Submission Flow: Allowing users to upload multiple images smoothly, especially from mobile, required several iterations
  3. Preventing Spam: Building moderation logic and filters to ensure quality community contributions
  4. Maintaining Performance: Real-time updates with rich data and media, while keeping the app snappy on all devices

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  1. Built a working, real-time platform that feels fluid and community-first
  2. Enabled a smooth prompt submission process enhanced with AI support
  3. Created an ecosystem where users can not just consume, but contribute and engage
  4. Integrated outputs from multiple AI models and made them browsable and comparable

What we learned

  2. How powerful real-time feedback loops are for user activity and retention
  3. Technical insights into image optimization, AI API variability, and real-time syncing
  4. That users don’t just want prompts — they want context, results, and community
