Inspiration

The inspiration for AI Chef Companion came from a desire to revolutionize the way people approach cooking and meal planning. We wanted to harness the power of AI to provide personalized culinary assistance, making it easier and more enjoyable for everyone to explore new flavors and dishes.

What it does

AI Chef Companion leverages Google AI and Gemini-Pro-Vision technology to analyze images and prompts provided by users. Based on this input, the app generates tailored responses, offering food recipes, cooking ideas, and insightful tips to enhance the culinary experience.

How we built it

We built AI Chef Companion using a combination of Google AI, ChatGoogleGenerativeAI API, and the Gemini-Pro-Vision model. The backend infrastructure is using Flask framework powered by robust servers capable of handling image recognition and natural language processing tasks efficiently. The frontend interface was developed using modern web technologies for a seamless user experience.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges we encountered was fine-tuning the AI models to accurately interpret diverse food images and prompts. Additionally, integrating multiple AI technologies while maintaining optimal performance presented its own set of technical hurdles. However, through collaboration and perseverance, we overcame these challenges and optimized the app for smooth operation.

We're proud to have developed AI Chef Companion from concept to reality within the constraints of the hackathon timeline. Seeing our vision come to life and witnessing the app's ability to provide valuable culinary insights to users is incredibly rewarding. Moreover, we're proud of the seamless integration of various AI technologies, resulting in a powerful and intuitive user experience.
