Why we built it
As users, having personalized attention is paramount, assisting us in understanding a product, service, or any relevant information to make decisions, such as product selection, recommendations, or even as an investment coach.
In response to this situation, we propose this easy-to-install and user-friendly solution.
What it does
AI Chatbot is a WordPress plugin (the most widely used web content management system in the world) that can be installed to connect with the ChatGPT API, provide context (information from which advice and support will be given), and engage with users interested in products and services.
Thanks to this installable plugin, it's possible to display a "popup" window in the bottom right corner to interact with users in a friendly and practical manner.
How we built it
Initially, we started by understanding the proposed requirements, particularly utilizing artificial intelligence to offer the possibility for end users to interact.
Later, as a team, we had a dialogue with different solutions, proposals, and ideas. We agreed to create a Chatbot connected to an Artificial Intelligence based on a pre-trained language model. We chose to use ChatGPT as it is currently a leader in the AI industry and has an easy-to-configure and connect API.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge was primarily to collaboratively formulate an idea where we could leverage our various skills and strengths. As a result of this collaboration, we agreed that the developed proposal (which is already functional) will provide the opportunity to solve problems and establish a connection between artificial intelligence and users.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of working as a team, getting to know very interesting people at the Hackathon (HackMTY 2023), and learning through attempting to solve problems. We deeply value the collaborative effort we have achieved and the chance to connect with highly engaging individuals during the Hackathon (HackMTY 2023). This experience has imparted valuable lessons as we tackled and endeavored to solve challenging problems.
What we learned
Undoubtedly, we learned technologies related to WordPress, the creation of an installable plugin, the ability to build a functional system, and the possibility to adapt it to any context.
What's next for AI Chatbot - WP Plugin
We aim to maintain the plugin to operate on future versions of PHP and WordPress, configuring the necessary dependencies for its functionality. Our goal is to provide an open-source solution.
