AI Career Mentor Inspiration As an aspiring data scientist, I understand the struggle of navigating career paths in tech. Job seekers often lack clear, personalized guidance to bridge skill gaps and land roles like data scientist. Inspired by this challenge, I built AI Career Mentor to empower users with tailored career roadmaps, leveraging AI and blockchain to make guidance accessible, engaging, and trustworthy. The Bolt.new hackathon’s innovative tools (Supabase, ElevenLabs, Tavus, Algorand, RevenueCat, Reddit) fueled my vision to create a scalable, interactive career platform. What it does AI Career Mentor is a mobile-responsive web app that:

Takes user inputs (skills, education) to generate a personalized career roadmap, suggesting skills (e.g., Python for data science) and certifications (e.g., AWS Data Analytics). Offers a voice-based AI mentor (ElevenLabs) and video-based AI mentor (Tavus) to answer queries like “What skills for data science?” in natural speech and video. Stores certification hashes on Algorand’s TestNet for trustless verification. Includes a fun Reddit-shared career quiz game to engage users on social media. Features a RevenueCat paywall for premium analytics (e.g., detailed skill gap reports). Deploys on Netlify with a minimalist blue-white, chatbot-style UI for seamless UX.

How we built it Built primarily on Bolt.new, the app uses:

React: For a mobile-responsive frontend with a chatbot-style interface. Supabase: To store user inputs and roadmaps, ensuring scalability. ElevenLabs: For voice-based AI responses, enhancing accessibility. Tavus: For video-based AI mentor interactions, adding a human-like touch. Algorand: To store certificate hashes on TestNet, ensuring trust. Reddit API: To share a silly career quiz on r/boltnewbuilders. RevenueCat: For a subscription paywall, enabling premium features. Netlify: For deployment with a “Built on Bolt” badge.I used one Bolt.new prompt to generate the core app, manually integrated APIs in the IDE, and exported to GitHub for Netlify deployment, optimizing for my 150,000-token limit.

Challenges we ran into

Token Limits: With only 150,000 tokens, I had to use one prompt and manual edits, which was tough as a beginner. API Integration: Configuring Tavus and Algorand APIs was complex due to limited documentation familiarity. Time Crunch: With hours to the deadline, balancing seven challenge integrations (Supabase, ElevenLabs, Tavus, Algorand, Reddit, RevenueCat, Netlify) was intense. Custom Domain: I couldn’t secure an Entri/IONOS domain, so I pivoted to a Netlify URL.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully integrated seven hackathon challenges (Voice AI, Conversational AI Video, Startup, Blockchain, Make More Money, Silly Sh!t, Deploy) in a single app. Built a functional MVP as a beginner, with voice, video, blockchain, and social features. Created a user-friendly, mobile-responsive UI despite time constraints. Deployed a working app on Netlify with a “Built on Bolt” badge.

What we learned

Bolt.new: Mastered prompt-based development and IDE editing to save tokens. APIs: Gained hands-on experience with Supabase, ElevenLabs, Tavus, Algorand, Reddit, and RevenueCat APIs. Time Management: Learned to prioritize core features under tight deadlines. Problem-Solving: Adapted to missing the Custom Domain Challenge by focusing on other strengths.

What’s next for AI Career Mentor

Add LinkedIn API for automatic profile analysis. Implement advanced analytics for premium users via RevenueCat. Secure a custom domain for professional branding. Expand the Reddit quiz into a gamified career community. Scale with Supabase to support millions, targeting tech hubs like India for data science aspirants.
