Inspiration
Many students feel confused about what skills they have and what they need to learn for jobs. I wanted to build a simple AI tool that helps students understand their current level and guides them in the right direction. I was also inspired to include mental wellness support because students often feel stressed about their careers.
What it does
This project is an AI-based Career and Mental Wellness Assistant. It allows users to upload their resume, analyzes their skills, identifies missing skills, and suggests suitable job roles. It also provides a score and feedback. Additionally, it includes a chatbot and stress management tips.
How I built it
I built this project using Python and Streamlit. I used basic string matching techniques to extract skills from resumes and compare them with predefined skill sets. The interface was designed using Streamlit for simplicity and easy interaction.
Challenges I ran into
One challenge was handling different resume formats and extracting text correctly. I also faced issues with file decoding and Streamlit errors. Debugging and fixing those issues helped me improve my problem-solving skills.
What I learned
I learned how to build real-world AI-based applications, work with Streamlit, handle user input, and debug errors. I also understood how to design user-friendly interfaces.
Future improvements
In the future, I want to improve accuracy using NLP, add more job roles, and deploy the project online.
