🧾 Project Overview

Problem Being Addressed

Students and early professionals often struggle to understand how their current skills align with real-world career roles such as Software Development or Machine Learning. While many tools provide generic resume feedback, they fail to offer clear direction, role-specific insights, and actionable pathways for improvement.

As a result, individuals spend time learning without knowing whether their efforts are actually improving their chances of getting shortlisted or succeeding in their target roles.

Proposed Solution

This project introduces AI Career GPS, an intelligent system that analyzes a user’s resume or skill set and transforms it into a structured, role-oriented career analysis.

The system provides:

  • Role Match Scores to quantify how well a user fits different career paths
  • Skill Gap Analysis to identify missing or weak areas for each role
  • Personalized Roadmaps outlining step-by-step improvement strategies
  • Project Suggestions tailored to strengthen the user’s profile
  • Recruiter Perspective Insights, highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and shortlist likelihood
  • Before vs After Simulation, allowing users to see how specific improvements (e.g., learning DSA) impact their role readiness

By combining analysis with simulation, the system goes beyond static feedback and enables interactive career planning.

Intended Impact / Use Case

The tool is designed for:

  • Students preparing for internships or placements
  • Self-taught developers unsure about their readiness
  • Individuals transitioning between roles (e.g., from Data Analyst to ML Engineer)

Its primary impact is to:

  • Provide clarity in career direction
  • Enable data-driven decision making about what to learn next
  • Reduce wasted effort by focusing on high-impact improvements
  • Simulate future outcomes, helping users understand how their choices affect their career trajectory

Ultimately, the system acts as a practical, AI-powered career navigation tool, bridging the gap between current skills and real-world opportunities.
