AI Career Compass – Smart Student Career Guidance

Inspiration

Many students feel confused about choosing the right career path after SSC, Intermediate, Diploma, Degree, or B.Tech. They often lack personalized guidance about career opportunities, required skills, and future education options. This inspired us to build AI Career Compass, a platform that helps students understand their strengths and explore suitable career paths.

What It Does

AI Career Compass provides students with personalized career guidance based on their education level, interests, skills, and academic performance. It helps students explore career opportunities, understand the skills they need to develop, discover learning roadmaps, and get support with resume preparation.

How We Built It

We developed AI Career Compass as a web-based platform with a simple and user-friendly interface. Students can access the platform, provide their educational details, and explore career guidance relevant to their goals.

The project focuses on:

• Student Authentication: Provides a login and signup workflow.
• Personalized Career Guidance: Helps students explore suitable career options based on their profiles.
• Skill Development: Suggests skills students can learn to improve their career opportunities.
• Career Roadmaps: Helps students understand the steps needed to reach their goals.
• Resume Support: Guides students in preparing a resume for future opportunities.

We also deployed the project online using Netlify so that users can access it through a web browser.

Challenges We Faced

One of our main challenges was designing a career guidance workflow that could support students from different educational backgrounds. We also worked on making the interface easy to understand, organizing student information, and connecting the different features into a single platform. Deploying the application and ensuring that the user journey was clear required additional testing and improvements.

What We Learned

Through this project, we improved our understanding of web development, user interface design, authentication workflows, deployment, and problem-solving. We also learned how technology can be used to address real-world educational challenges and make career information more accessible to students.

Future Scope

In the future, we aim to improve the platform with more advanced AI-powered recommendations, aptitude assessments, real-time course and job opportunities, skill-gap analysis, and multilingual support. Our goal is to make career guidance more accessible, personalized, and useful for students.
